Johann Lafer chooses Villeroy & Boch tableware for The Gainsborough Restaurant in Bath Spa
Villeroy & Boch is thrilled to have been selected to supply the tableware for The Gainsborough Hotel’s restaurant which opens its doors today. Villeroy & Boch’s premium hotel tableware is represented all over the globe, in some of the world’s most luxurious hotels and restaurants. The Gainsborough Hotel in Bath Spa is the latest exclusive address to be championing the brand, serving its guests with specially created tableware.
The Hotel & Restaurant division at Villeroy & Boch has equipped the restaurant “Johann Lafer at The Gainsborough” with a range Custom Made Solutions. One of the ranges derives from the elegant tableware collection La Classica Contura, which features a graphic pattern that is inspired by domes and rotundas of Italian architecture. Villeroy & Boch have also created a collection inspired by Johann Lafer’s cook book “Two Friends, One Cuisine” which boasts an exclusive floral design on the rectangular Modern Grace tableware.
The Gainsborough has partnered with one of Germany’s most celebrated Michelin starred chefs and TV personalities, Johann Lafer, who lends his name to the brand new restaurant and has been an ambassador of Villeroy & Boch’s for many years now. All dishes will be inspired by the award-winning cook book “Two Friends, One Cuisine” written by Lafer and the Malaysian Chef Wai, the YTL Hotels Group Corporate Chef.
The Gainsborough Spa is YTL Hotels' latest addition to its international portfolio and their first hotel in the UK. The Gainsborough Spa is set in the heart of Bath, a beautiful city known and appreciated by the visitors for its thermal spring water. Bath offers fine museums and attractions to guests from all over the world. The 99 guest rooms of The Gainsborough Spa are custom furnished and with their subtle aesthetics refer to both the Gregorian era as well as to a contemporary style and offer a stunning view over the city of Bath. The spa of the hotel has at its heart three Romanesque thermal pools, and is equipped with thermal pods, saunas, a steam room, an ice alcove and 11 relaxation rooms.
