Vista Alegre makes its NY NOW show debut

The Portuguese brand will exhibit for the first time at the Winter 2016 NY NOW Show showcasing its new collections of fine porcelain, crystal and earthenware products

Vista Alegre, a worldwide leader in fine porcelain and crystal tableware and giftware, will make its debut at the NY NOW show from January 30 – February 3, 2016, in Booth 3245, Level 3, Tabletop + Gourmet Housewares. This latest expansion is indicative of Vista Alegre’s ongoing dedication to the U.S. tradeshow market, and is one of many steps the company is taking to reinforce its leadership position in the tabletop and home décor industries.

“We are thrilled to be showing our new tabletop and giftware collections, as well as product introductions for Bordallo Pinheiro* at NY NOW for the first time,” said Daniel Da Silva, President of Vista Alegre USA. “Connecting with our customers in this high-profile venue, and building relationships with new retailers and other industry professionals will help us continue to grow in one of the company’s most important markets.”

In keeping with this growth, as well as its product innovation and superior craftsmanship, Vista Alegre will introduce an array of tabletop and giftware collections in both porcelain and crystal at the January show. This includes the continuation of Vista Alegre’s renowned collaboration with international design house, Christian Lacroix Maison, by introducing a giftware collection called Madones. These chic, decorative porcelain trays illustrate three sumptuous haute couture dresses that epitomize baroque femininity. Luxurious brocade, delicate lace and ethereal muslins are the inspiration for these three pieces, blurring the lines between fashion and décor.

Vista Alegre will also showcase additions to the Love Who You Want! collection from Christian Lacroix. Debuting in 2014, this eclectic porcelain giftware line incorporates signature images from the fashion house’s classic haute couture designs and modern collections onto coasters, plates and more. The pieces can be mixed and matched to create expressive characters that make a bold statement in the home.

Also debuting at NY NOW is the Timeless dinnerware collection, the fading patterns of which artfully symbolise the staying power of classic design, heritage and sophisticated character. A selection of distinctive crystal barware will be represented at the Vista Alegre booth as well, including Naipes, a stylish glassware set featuring gold accents, and Adao, a wine decanter with a unique silhouette.

Additionally, Bordallo Pinheiro will display new products in Vista Alegre’s booth, including an extensive array of the Sardines collection, which features numerous patterns and colours to suit every décor style. Current product lines, such as Tropical, Peppers, and Fantasy, will also be shown.

About Vista Alegre
Vista Alegre USA, a subsidiary of Vista Alegre, was established in April 2013 to import and distribute the company’s products throughout North America.

Vista Alegre’s porcelain factory was founded in 1824, in Ílhavo, part of the Aveiro district (near the sea, in central Portugal). The company was the product of the heart and mind of a 19th century Portuguese entrepreneur and visionary, João Ferreira Pinto Basto. More than a century later, in 2001, Vista Alegre Group (porcelain, earthenware and stoneware) merged with the Atlantis Group (crystal and glass), giving rise to one of the largest collections of tableware and giftware in Europe – the Vista Alegre Atlantis Group. The company produces nearly 15 million pieces a year – from decorative porcelain, dinnerware and crystal pieces to domestic hospitality collections (which are used in some of Europe’s best hotels and restaurants). Throughout its history, the brand has been closely linked to the cultural life of Portugal, though it has maintained a high level of international prestige as well, exporting its products to more than 60 countries.

Vista Alegre products are used officially by the President of the Portuguese Republic, the White House, several Royal Houses and many notable dignitaries from around the world, including Queen Elizabeth II of England, King Juan Carlos of Spain and Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. The company also provides the official tableware for various embassies, including Brazil, Spain, Morocco and other public and private national and international institutions.
