The July/August issue of Tableware International is out now!

This issue we announce the launch of the Tableware International Awards of Excellence, an annual celebration of all that’s excellent within the tabletop industry, set up to recognise and reward the companies that make this industry so successful.

Companies can enter products and collections in any of our 15 categories and our international panel of judges will select winners, who will be announced at a very special event during Ambiente 2018. See inside this issue and online at www.tablewareinternationalawards.com for more information one the Awards and how to enter.

As always, this August issue, we deliver our annual Metalware and Licensing features, highlighting in particular the rise of metal barware, along with the latest launches, and discussing the multiple benefits retailers and brands can get from collaborating to create licensed collections.

We talk to plenty of tabletop companies this issue, to find out what’s happening in their worlds: we find out how Noritake is returning to its Japanese roots for design inspiration; pay tribute to 160 years of Moser Crystal and showcase its largest art glass collection to date; and sit down with Mackenzie-Childs’ creative director to find out more about this globally-growing company.

In our Trade Talk feature, we discuss business plans and launches with six global tableware factories and we also find out this issue how 3D printing is changing the face of the tableware industry. Professors from the RCA have their say.

We have plenty of retail talk for you this month too. Having visited Moscow last month, we give a first-hand review of luxury tableware chain Dom Farfora; and discuss business in Greece with Greek tabletop retail chain Parousiasi.

Sir Stuart Lyons, the once chief executive of Royal Doulton, pays tribute to Gerald J Lipton MBE, owner of retailer Chinacraft and a legend in the fine china business, who passed away recently; and our retail columnist Michele Trzuskowski, owner of T is for Table discusses how she engaging the millennial population.

Finally, we look forward to the autumn shows with an array of trade show previews, including a sneak peek at what’s happening at NY NOW this August, outlining Maison & Objet Paris’ reconfigured Hall 6; discovering what will be on show at Top Drawer London and highlighting all that’s going on at Homi Milano.

Plus, we deliver the latest industry, exhibition and retail news.
