‘Papyrus’ by Rosenthal gets a splash of colour

Rosenthal have taken a new spin on the popular ‘Papyrus’ collection, but injecting the line with subtle colour for 2011.

All existing vases in the collection are now offered in eight different colour glazes, with the colour exclusively on the exterior of the item, with the outside remaining classic white.

The transparent glazes merge with the porcelain, which trace the structures on the inner sides of the article without loosing the effect of the relief. The gloss and transparency of the glaze colour is obtained in contrast to conventional porcelain colour, with the lightness of the very thin body not affected.

Papyrus Colours is offered in two families with four colours. The first palette is based on colours from nature as ‘Almost mauve’, ‘Wind chime’, ‘Iris’ and ‘Deep forest’. The second consists of aqueous intense colours such as ‘French vanilla’, ‘Celestial’, ‘Biscay Bay’ and ‘Porcelain blue’.

The collection will be launched firstly at Maison et Objet in January and also at Ambiente Frankfurt.
