Portmeirion Group revive Spode 'Blue Room' collection
Since Portmeirion Group made the acquisition of Spode back in April 2009, the company's primary objective has been to lay the foundations for a new era for this great brand.

The latest design to be re-introduced using the Spode archive is the unique and very individual Blue Room collection. Originally created in the 18th century, Spode's Blue Room is an eclectic mix of distinctive motifs, patterns and intricate borders. Taking inspiration from myriad sources as diverse as famous landscapes, iconic buildings, flora and fauna through to the classic willow pattern and then the more quirky scenes from Zoo's past and Aesop's fables, Blue Room embodies Spode's quintessential charm and timelessness.
Blue Room comprises 2 beautifully gift boxed ranges; Chintz with six designs featuring flower motifs, plus Archive - another six designs, decorated with archive inspired designs.
An additional three mugs, again archive inspired, are also included in the Blue Room collection. These are being made in the Portmeirion Group factory in Stoke on Trent, the Portland Vase, Byron Groups and Camilla - known as 'cottage style' mugs feature distinctive handles and a tapering shape. Also made in Stoke on Trent, six stunning dresser plates complete the collection.
