Villeroy & Boch: Traditional country flair with a contemporary appeal

In an urban society, nature has become a symbol for slowing down and finding harmony, offering a refuge, a source of strength and health. As part of this trend, healing herbs and kitchen spices are presently experiencing a true renaissance. 

Bathing in beneficial botanical essences, using cosmetics with flower extracts and even eating foods seasoned with aromatic garden herbs is now seen as steps to foster the well-being of both body and soul in very special ways.

Inspired by today's sensitivity to nature, Villeroy & Boch has now created a new Country decor: Althea Nova, embodying the highest quality and furnishing an emotional décor that works on several levels, appearing both fresh and contemporary all at once.

The traditional country shape of the octave has been rediscovered for Althea Nova. The central motifs of the décor are such herbs as cilantro, sage and lovage, rendered as botanical drawings. The design comes in two different interpretations of the herbal theme: one with the herbs finely drawn and shadowed, and one depicting detailed close-ups of the herbs.
